Imaging Centre of Excellence (ICE)

Hosting clinical research facilities and bringing academics, industry partners and the NHS together to strengthen our position as a
world leader in precision medicine.


We are excited to present a fresh and engaging programme for Industry Day 2017. It will showcase our investment in a Clinical Innovation Zone and creative infrastructure to allow academics, industry partners and the NHS to work together within state of the art facilities to deliver a shared vision of a world leading precision medicine ecosystem.

Professor Sir Mark Walport, Chief Executive Designate of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), Government Chief Scientific Adviser and Head of Government Science and Engineering Profession and UKRI will officially open ICE and give the keynote address
.. ICE will host cutting edge imaging clinical research facilities which provide a nexus for academic, NHS and industrial expertise into brain imaging whilst further strengthening our position as a world leader in precision medicine. ICE hosts a 7T MRI scanner, the first of its kind fully integrated within a clinical site in the UK, underpinned by clinical expertise in stroke, cardiovascular disease and brain imaging.

Industry Day will present partnering opportunities, poster
displays and networking over lunch. In the afternoon, two parallel workshops will deliver presentations and discussions on whole body imaging, and cells and tissue imaging.

To mark the opening of the ICE building and 7T MRI facility, a pre-Industry Day Imaging Symposium will be held on 28th March 2017. This scientific symposium will offer the opportunity to hear from and interact with leading experts in ultra-high field MRI.
